The team name and logo was launched on December 13, 2015 by the owner Javed Afridi in Army Public School Peshawar. The term ‘Zalmi‘ is taken from Pashto language which means ‘youth‘ meaning ‘Peshawar Youth‘. The kit initially comprised of two colors that are blue and yellow. However in PSL 4, kit colors were changed to black and yellow. According to Nielsen, Peshawar Zalmi is the biggest sports league of Pakistan holding a worth of USD 40.5 Millions.
