The final match of T20 World Cup 2021 (Season 7) will be held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai UAE. The event comes up on Sunday, November 14. The ICC has revealed the teams for the Twenty20 World Cup, which will be held in Oman and UAE from 17th of October to 14th of November, 2021. Each shot will be incredibly exciting since it is the smallest form of cricket in which the finest sportsmen across the globe compete with one other and give their all for success.

The tournament will continue to be hosted by the cricket board of India. The ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2021 is the seventh event, which is set to take place in Oman and UAE. Following is the Event Calendar, Schedules, and Timeline.

  • The event will begin on the 17th of October (Only qualifying games).
  • In Oman, 8 squad qualifying games will be played.
  • Main stage will begin on the 24th of October.

Timeline

The Twenty20 World Cup would be divided into 2 phases, both consisting of 42 matches. 1st Round would feature 12 matches involving 8 squads, with 4 squads advancing for the Super 12 squads. The Super 12 matches, which are set to begin on the 24th of October, 2021 would feature thirty games between the 4 squads of the qualifier round 1 and the highest 8 ranked Twenty20 squads. These squads would be divided into 2 groups. Following that, there would be 3 elimination matches, 2 semi-final matches, and then the final match.

The International Cricket Council announced the championship groupings on the 16th of July, 2021, based on squad rankings as of March 20, 2021.

 

Progress Toward Final

In 1st round, there are eight squads divided into two groups that will play matches. Group A includes Namibia, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Sri Lanka, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman.

Two squads will be chosen from every category. These four squads will accompany the eight previously qualifying squads (Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, England, West Indies, and India) in the Super 12 tournament. The semi-finals will be held on the 11th and 12th of November. The final of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup will be held on the 14th of November, 2021.

Tournaments will be contested on four grounds from 17th of October to 14th of November at Oman Cricket Academy Ground, Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi, Sharjah Stadium, and the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
