Pakistan Super League had its first edition of the game in 2016 and up till 2018; there have been three seasons. Out of the three, Islamabad United was the champion in two of them and is the current reigning champion. They managed to reach the playoffs in the 2017 season, but not much ahead. However, they managed to grab their title back and redeem themselves in the last season.
Islamabad United has a great track record in the PSL and won the title for being the inaugural champions by winning in the first season. The lead scorer for the team was Luke Ronchi and the wicket keeper Mohammad Sami, both of whom have been still retained by the team for the 2019 matches as well.
With the time for the fourth edition of PSL coming closer, the pressure and anticipation is mounting and with a fresh mix of domestic and international players thrown together, audiences are waiting patiently for the much awaited action in the stadium and wondering if Islamabad United will be able to stay the champions for yet another year or we will encounter an unexpected turn of events.
